POLICE officers could seen be packing cameras in a hi-tech bid to beat crime.
Cameras could be used by local police officers to tackle offenders.
Police officers in B Division – which covers Glasgow North East and East Dunbartonshire – are being given access to seven body-mounted cameras which were funded by a grant of £6,250 from the East, Centre and Calton Local Community Planning Partnership.
A Strathclyde Police spokesperson has confirmed the cameras will be used mainly in Glasgow’s East End, but officers across the division will have access to them.
That could see them used in Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs in the future.
