Magical Busby children's day helped Wish charity

A galaxy of magical characters descended on the Busby Hotel for a glittering children's event that raised a fortune for charity.

The hotel organised a special day to support its chosen cause, When You Wish Upon a Star, and fabulous costumes were the order of the day.

The charity helps to bring smiles to children who have a life threatening illness by giving them memories to treasure.

There to enjoy the fun were 29 Wish Children, along with 36 of their siblings and their parents or guardians.

They were thrilled by an array of colourful princesses, wonder women, supermen, and Toy Story favourites Buzz Lightyear and Woody.

The Busby Hotel team meanwhile transformed themselves into characters including Snow White, Elsa, Superman, Spiderman and even Darth Vader.

The children and families were treated to an afternoon tea, lots of music and dancing, games which included pass the parcel, singing and storytelling – and they also took home prizes from the raffle.

Meanwhile the event raised £875 for the charity.

Busby Hotel general manager Juliet Parry said: “When You Wish Upon a Star do fantastic work in supporting children and their families, and this was such a lovely event for us to organise and host.

“All the team got into the spirit of the day, which we wanted to make as memorable as we could.

“We’ve all been very touched by the children and their families, and if we can bring smiles to faces, we’ve done what we set out to do.”.

“We are truly honoured that they have chosen us to support this year.

“The money raised from their charity fundraising will help us to continue to grant the wishes of children throughout Scotland who live with a life threatening or terminal illness”.
