Making a difference to a young life

Could you help make a difference to a young person’s life?

East Dunbartonshire Council wants to hear from you as they recruit more people to become foster carers.

The council’s ‘People like you’ fostercare campaign is running throughout the year and beyond with the message being displayed on billboards at train stations and bus stops across the area.

There has been a good response to the campaign so far, but with approximately 40 children and young people coming into care every year in East Dunbartonshire, the council needs to urgently attract more foster carers.

The council is looking for people interested in fostering either full -time or on a part-time basis.

Councillor Michael O’Donnell, convener of social work, said: “It’s a challenging, but highly rewarding role. The process may seem daunting to start with, but our Care Planning and Placement Team are on hand to offer you support every step of the way.”
