A police spokesman said that due to the precarious positioning of the car, stabilisers had to be used to keep the vehicle upright to ensure the welfare of everyone working inside the vehicle.

He added: “Firefighters thereafter had to utilise various cutting equipment to assist the safe removal of the man within the vehicle.”

His injuries are unknown but are not believed to be serious.

The officer added that a 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with alleged road traffic offences and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
