AN SOS to high street guru Mary Portas on behalf of Bishopbriggs town centre has fallen on deaf ears.
Woodhill Residents’ Group asked the retail expert for help after concerns were raised about the scale of a new Morrisons supermarket and car park on the former Bishopbriggs High site.
The TV celebrity, known as Mary Queen of Shops, has recently carried out an independent review of UK high streets, which she has submitted to the Government.
However, a spokesperson for Mary said she would not be able to personally help Bishopbriggs town centre, because she has already completed and submitted her study to the Government.
A spokesperson for the residents’ group said: “We’re disappointed. Mary’s reputation’s second to none, it would have been fabulous to get her input.”
