A rugby club’s annual festival of sport, food, music and drink is warming up to be the event which kicks off the summer season.
Mayfest runs from May 8-11 at Lenzie Rugby Club, which has hosted community events since 1897.
Now, as well as having teams in all age groups in rugby, it enjoys ahealthy social section.
Lenzie RFC president Colin Stewart said : “Lenzie RFC invites all members of the public to come along to our second annual Mayfest event.
“This marks the end of the rugby season and the beginning of the summer for the local community.
‘‘Mayfest caters for all of the family, with activities and bouncy castle for the kids, exciting rugby matches, fantastic food supplied by local companies, some great live music and a full range of real ales and a Prosecco tent.”
Here’s a run-down of the mixed bag of entertainment, which includes a rugby match.
May 8: The festival kicks off at 7pm with a real ale taster session, live music and Deli Food by Billingtons of Lenzie.
May 9: First XV rugby match against regional opposition. Last year’s match against The Co-Optimists was a great match, with open running rugby for all to enjoy.
You can also enjoy real ales from some of Scotland’s finest breweries, hog roast by Nonna’s Kitchen and live music throughout the evening.
