The body of a missing 86-year-old man suffering from dementia has been discovered in Milngavie, a day after he disappeared.
Neil McFarlane (86), was last seen by his family at home at Craigmaddie, around 6.45pm hours on Sunday, November 19.
He was then reported missing to police, who revealed the sad news around 2.15pm today (Monday, November 20) that he had been found dead, near to his home.
A police spokesperson said relatives are aware. He added that a post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, but that there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
