A FUN-loving couple who still enjoy life in the fast lane have celebrated 50 years of married life together.
Liam and Betty Glen were married in St Machan’s Parish Church on November 25, 1961. Liam (74) was an electrician at the Kali Nail Works in Lennoxtown and Betty (74) worked in the office.
They have three sons – Liam, Kevin and Brian – and two grandchildren, Murray and Cara.
Throughout their married life, the couple – who live in Mount Pleasant Crescent, Milton of Campsie – have been keen motorbike enthusiasts and spent many holidays taking in the Manx Grand Prix on the Isle of Man.
Liam still owns two motorbikes – a Honda 500 and a Kawasaki 500 – and regularly takes them out for a spin.
As a youngster, Betty attended Craighead Primary in Milton of Campsie, Lennoxtown Primary and Kilsyth Academy. Liam was a pupil at St Machan’s School.
The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a family meal in the Glazertbank Country House Hotel, in Lennoxtown.
