Motorists have been getting frustrated by increased traffic congestion along Milngavie Road this week due to work being carried out by Scottish Water.
Geraldine ODonnell commented on social media on Wednesday, August 31: “Avoid Milngavie Rd at all costs!! Currently tailing back to Carphone Warehouse heading to Milngavie.”
Temporary traffic lights have been put in place while the work is being carried out on the A81 Milngavie Road near the Allander Leisure Centre and Mosshead Road.
Scottish Water has closed 400 metres of the road to enable them to do essential relining of water mains.
A Scottish Water spokesman said: “The road traffic management was arranged in liaison with East Dunbartonshire
Council’s roads department.
“Scottish Water apologises for any disruption caused by the work, which is needed to improve services for thousands of customers in the local area.”
The work is expected to be finished by this weekend.
