A MUM-OF-THREE is preparing for the trip of a lifetime to help some of the world’s poorest children.
Sarah Turnbull (41), from Kirkintilloch, will fly to Uganda in June with her niece Laura Stonelake (21) to help at the Luwero Community Ministry Project, which works with street children and broken families.
Sarah will stay in Kampala for the first part of her two-week trip before moving to Luwero, where she plans to get involved in the community’s school, farm and clinic.
The trip is a bit of a fact finding mission for Sarah, who hopes to revisit the projects next year with her three sons Callum (13), Jack (11) and Luke (8).
She said: “I can’t wait to go, I’ve never done anything like this before.
“I want to see the projects and what’s going on there.
“I want to get involved in the community so I can get to know their needs and continue to support them and raise awareness.”
Sarah is currently looking for school supply donations, including pencils, pens, rulers, grey jumpers and white shirts, to take to the projects.
To donate items for the project you can contact Sarah on 07816 567 446.
