LET’S get together for a class celebration to mark a special anniversary.

That’s the invite from Gina Livingstone who is organising a meal for Kirkintilloch High’s first S1 intake at Smiths Hotel to mark the school’s ruby anniversary.

The event, which takes place in September, will be followed by a dance arranged by the school’s PTA for all former pupils.

Gina said: “I’m really looking forward to it. I watched the school being built when I was at Oxgang Primary and I think it is important to recognise its 40th year.

“It’s a big thing when you are the original first years in a school and it should be celebrated.

“We’re all getting older and it will be really good to get to see people I’ve not seen since school.”

The old Kirkintilloch High was built in 1971 and replaced with a new state-of-the-art school two years ago.

The meal is at 6.30pm on Friday, September 30.
