Milngavie’s Oxfam shop urgently needs volunteers to help with stock management and serve customers in the run up to the festive holiday.
The store, at 40 Main Street in Milngavie, relies on volunteers to keep the shop profitable – ensuring it contributes to Oxfam’s fight against poverty.
The holiday season is a particularly busy time for the shop, and making the most of the festive rush is vital to maximise the funds it raises for Oxfam’s work both at home and overseas.
Oxfam Milngavie shop manager Lynne McLean said: “We have received lots of donations recently, which we’re really grateful for. This is a very generous community.
“But we really need more volunteers to help us make the most of the fantastic stock we’ve got, and make as much money as possible for Oxfam’s work.
“Whether it’s working on the shop floor and till, sorting stock, or applying any expertise they might have, we’d be grateful for any time that volunteers can give.”
Jeanette Taylor, who has been an Oxfam volunteer for eight years, said: “I’m so happy I joined the team at the Oxfam shop in Milngavie, I’ve made many new friends and we all have a fun time working as volunteers.
“Do come and join us – it’s great to know that we are all helping those in desperate need.”
