SP energy Network said it had no advance warning of the power cut and is working to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
The power went off around 9.30am today (Wednesday, February 17) .
An energy spokesperson said: “A large number of customers have been affected and we apologise to them.
"We had no advance warning and were only made aware of it at 9.40am.”
She added: “Our control centre will attempt to restore the power remotely.”
She said engineers were also on their way to the site and they hoped to restore power by 11.45am.
