Police continue hunt for missing Bishopbriggs man

Police are continuing to carry out searches and enquiries to trace 83 year-old Henry Patterson, who has been missing from his home in Bishopbriggs since Monday, September 5.

The last known sighting of Mr Patterson was at 1pm on Monday, when he was walking on Balmuildy Road at Hilton Gardens, in Bishopbriggs.

He is described as white, 5ft 8in in height and of slim build with thinning white hair and a ruddy complexion.

A new picture of him has now been released by the police.

When he was last seen he was wearing a brown fleece and grey trousers. He may be wearing a flat cap and sometimes smokes a pipe.

His family and police are extremely concerned for his wellbeing as he suffers from the early stages of dementia and may appear confused.

He doesn’t normally leave the house on his own, and hasn’t been missing for this length of time.

Local officers are being assisted by specialist search advisors in their ongoing efforts to trace Mr Patterson. Resources such as the force helicopter and the dog unit have also been undertaking searches.

In the past, Mr Patterson has been known to frequent Bishopbriggs Town Centre, his local library and the Morrisons store, as well as Oregano, Springfield Cambridge Church and Strathkelvin Industrial Park. He also likes to visit Dobbies in Milngavie.

Anyone who has seen Mr Patterson or who has any information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Kirkintilloch Police Office through 101.
