Police are appealing for information following a road crash in Springburn on Sunday 20 December 2015.

At around 5.30pm on Sunday evening, a 44-year-old man was struck by a southbound Mercedes Sprinter van as he crossed Springburn Road, Glasgow, near to the KFC.

He was taken by ambulance to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is currently detained. Medical staff describe his condition as critical but stable.

The 77 year old van driver was uninjured.

Sergeant Nicola Taylor, Divisional Road Policing Unit, Glasgow, said: “It would appear that the man was attempting to cross the carriageway when he was struck by the van which stopped immediately at the scene.

“We have already spoken to people who stopped to assist the man but are still looking for further witnesses who were in the area at the time to contact police with any information about the incident.”

Information can be passed to officers at the Divisional Road Policing Unit in Glasgow via 101.
