Police launch investigation after two hospitalised in Lenzie stabbings

TWO men were stabbed outside a pub in the early hours of Christmas morning.

The pair picked up serious injuries during what police are describing as a “large scale disturbance” outside Carriages Pub, in Lenzie’s Millersneuk Shopping Centre, at around 1.55am.

During the disturbance the 31-year-old and 26-year-old suffered stab wounds and were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

The 31-year-old man has since left hospital, while the 26-year-old man was transferred to Gartnavel Hospital for further treatment.

Detective Constable John Laurie at Kirkintilloch CID said: “Our enquiries are underway in order to establish the circumstances of this incident which we believe involved around twelve people.

“I’d like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity at the time and witnessed the disturbance or anyone who has information that could help identify those responsible.”
