Detectives are investigating the serious assault of a 26-year-old man in Robroyston on Saturday.
The victim was attacked by another man outside McDonalds at Glasgow North Retail Park on Saughs Road around 10.35pm.
He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he received treatment for his injuries.
Police are particularly keen to speak to a man who alerted staff in McDonalds about the incident.
Detective Constable Stephen Cooke said: “I am directly appealing to the man who went into McDonalds to tell staff about the attack to get in touch as he may have vital information that could assist with our investigation.
“There would also have been other people within the restaurant at that time and I would ask anyone who witnessed what happened to contact police immediately.
“Anyone with information can call Shettleston CID on 101 or alternatively you can call crimiestoppers on 0800 555 111 where all calls are anonymous.”
