Police probe theft of £3k worth of tools in Bishopbriggs

MORE than £3,000 worth of tools have been stolen from an unlocked van.

The items were taken from a Citroen Berlingo vehicle parked in Stirling Gardens, Bishopbriggs, between Wednesday, December 26, and Friday, December 28.

Anybody with information is asked to call Kirkintilloch Police on 0141 532 4400.

Meanwhile, two motorists were charged for alleged drink driving between Christmas and New Year.

The first, a 23-year-old man, was pulled over in Crosshill Street, Lennoxtown, at around 10.15pm on Friday, December 28.

Then, a 31-year-old man was charged with the same offence in Campsie Road, Milton of Campsie, at around 12.45am on Saturday, December 29.

In a separate incident, a man has been charged with drinking in public during the early hours of the morning.

The 37-year-old was allegedly caught drinking alcohol in Catherine Street, Kirkintilloch, at around 12.20am on Sunday, December 30.
