Police officers say they have “mounting concern” about a youngster who has been missing since Monday morning.
Jennifer O’Neill (13), who is from Muirhead, was last seen around 8.30am on Monday, January 5, at her home.
She is described as around 5 foot 2 inches tall, slim build, with brown eyes and long black hair.
She was last seen wearing black leggings, black ‘Nike Airmax’ trainers, wearing a school shirt with a blue and maroon tie. She was also wearing a black ‘North Face’ fleece and a distinctive green and purple ‘North Face’ jacket.
Sergeant Thomas McAuley, from Cumbernauld Police Office, said: “We are very concerned with the disappearance of Jennifer as it is unlike her to be away from home for this length of time.
“Given the length of time and the fact she has not made contact with friends and family, there is mounting concern for her wellbeing.
“Jennifer has a number of friends in the east end of Glasgow and so we are progressing our enquiries in that area as well as the Muirhead area.”
“Her family are understandably anxious and we are continuing enquiries to trace Jennifer safe and well.
“I would ask anyone with information to contact police immediately on 101.”
