Crowds gathered in Stepps, Muirhead and Chryston this morning (Monday) to welcome The Queen’s Baton Relay to the northern corridor area of North Lanarkshire.
Young and old cheered as the baton passed through the villages on its way to Strathclyde Country Park.
With just a month to go until the 2014 Games kick off in Glasgow, excitement is building in communities across the whole of Scotland.
Meanwhile, local people are under starter’s orders for the baton coming to East Dunbartonshire. It will tour the district on July 19 on the final leg of its journey before stopping off in Glasgow ahead of the Games.
