Police have been led on a number of dramatic car chases recently following a spate of house breakings and car thefts in the area.
Homeowners in Kirkintilloch, Bishopbriggs and Chryston have already been targeted with thieves swiping car keys and driving off.
And on a number of occasions police have pursued stolen cars and have made at least three arrests in the last two weeks.
Constable Alex Moore said: “We have noted a number of thefts recently which could have been avoided if householders ensured that their property had been properly secured.
“Leaving windows and doors unlocked both within the home and with motor vehicles is an open invitation to thieves.
“Police Scotland would urge all residents and vehicle owners to be vigilant and take due security measures before leaving their homes and vehicles and prior to going to bed.”
A 20-year-old man was arrested following an alleged car theft and high-speed pursuit in Bishopbriggs earlier this month.
And just last week, two other males were detained in connection with a series of break-ins around Kirkintilloch, after another car chase which ended in Maryhill.
Elsewhere, a 17-year-old has been charged with a car theft in Chryston.
The young driver was arrested by police after being involved in a car crash.
