CAMPAIGNING residents held a mass demonstration on Sunday afternoon in Auchinloch.
Around 150 villagers gathered with banners at the under threat site in Langmuirhead Road.
Developers have been given the go-ahead to build 56 houses at the location.
Councillors Brian Wallace and Frances McGlinchey and Central Scotland MSP John Wilson supported the demo.
But residents say new homes are not needed, the infrastructure can’t cope and they fear for the habitat of local wildlife.
A spokesperson for Auchinloch Community Council, which organised the demonstration, said: “We were amazed by the turnout.
“People appreciate the pressure that planning officers are under, but there is no need or justification for this site to be developed.”
