East Dunbartonshire MP Jo Swinson began her ‘Road to Referendum’ campaign with two public meetings in Bearsden and Kirkintilloch.
The campaign sees her holding a series of local meetings to provide people with an opportunity to get their questions on Scottish independence answered.
Topics under discussion in the first meetings included defence spending, Scotland’s EU membership and future devolved powers.
Ms Swinson said: “We are now less than four months away from the biggest decision the Scottish people will make in our lifetimes. Before local residents go to the ballot box on September 18 I want them to be as well informed as possible about the choices we face, which is why I decided to hold these open meetings.
“Last week we enjoyed some spirited debates and I hope those who attended left with more information and the answers they needed.
“I am looking forward to continuing the discussions at the War Memorial Hall in Bishopbriggs on Friday, June 6 at 7pm. Please do bring friends and family along and spread the word about this meeting.”
