YOU’RE Hired - that’s what council bosses will be telling young people as it launches its new Modern Apprenticeship programme.
East Dunbartonshire Council announced it would be running the programme as part of its key budget commitments for 2013/14.
It’s open to young people aged between 16-24 years-old who are East Dunbartonshire residents.
The first recruitment round is seeking applicants for 12 roles, including business and administration, horticulture and greenspace, ICT and customer service.
Council leader Rhondda Geekie is delighted to be launching the programme. She said, “As the largest employer in East Dunbartonshire it is right that we demonstrate our commitment to local employability by offering our young people work-based training programmes that will develop their skills, whilst also earning a wage.”
Details of the Modern Apprenticeships available can be found on the East Dunbartonshire page of the www.myjobscotland.gov.uk website or by following the ‘apply for a council job’ link from the homepage of the council website - www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk. The closing date for applications is Sunday, April 7.
