A Lenzie student has helped instil the Christmas spirit in Glasgow theatre-goers by starring in this year’s City of Glasgow College pantomime.
Andrew Davies was among those to tread the boards in the atmospheric venue of The Tall Ship on the River Clyde as part of a 20-strong cast of HND Acting and Performance students in the production of Sinbad.
Andrew (20), a former pupil of Lenzie Academy, played the role of a character named Musthaveakitkat over three evening performances.
Andrew, who hopes to become a stage actor when he graduates next summer, said: “This was my first pantomime and it was different to anything I’ve ever done before.
“The character I played is very funny and energetic – I was really pleased with the role as he has a few good jokes that went down well with the audience. I love how exaggerated pantomime is and I am glad the audience seemed to enjoy it.
“My family and friends came along to see the show – it’s always great to have people supporting you in the crowd. The Tall Ship was a fantastic venue for the show.”
