Boclair Academy in Bearsden has had an extremely successful year with 75 per cent of pupils leaving school with three or more highers – a 19 per cent increase on the year before.
The school was the sixth highest performer in the Greater Glasgow Herald and Evening Times’ league tables, despite having a deprivationrating of 19 per cent.
The school is only four per cent behind top school Douglas Academy, Milngavie, in the league tables.
Convener of Education, Councillor Maureen Henry said: “This is an outstanding achievement.
“The school has convincingly surpassed their benchmark figure of 63 per cent of school leavers achieving three or more highers, a significant improvement on previous years. Congratulations to all the teachers and pupils at Boclair Academy – this is a wonderful result.”
