Sunday service on the big screen
The congregations from the Church of the Nazarene in Viewpark, Uddingston and Twechar assembled to spread God’s word at Showcase in Bargeddie.
Pastors Andrew Goodwin, Clive Tutty and Alan Hughes hope to attract new followers with a series of monthly services there.

Mr Tutty said: “Many people may not be keen on visiting a traditional place of worship so we thought they might be more comfortable in a different setting.
“Families might be encouraged to go along to the service then, perhaps, take in a film or have lunch.”
The first service went well, according to Mr Goodwin who said: “With a live band playing, it was slightly different to our usual services, more relaxed.

“This sort of thing has been done in England, but I think it’s a first for Scotland. It’s good to try something a bit different as it can be hard to get people to come to a church.”
Further services will take place at Showcase on November 1 and December 6 at 10.30am, see online for more details.
