THERE has been an overwhelming response for a campaign to restore Kirkintilloch Town Hall to its former glory.
The Herald has been inundated with responses to a questionnaire in the paper asking readers for their views about the building.
So far all but a few responses are in favour of the hall being restored.
The town hall was closed in 2004 by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Kirkintilloch Town Hall Preservation Trust has been working tirelessly to save the building.
Last week the group visited Maryhill Burgh Halls to see how they have been redeveloped.
David Whitton, a member of the trust, said: “Maryhill Burgh Halls are a fantastic example of what can be achieved.”
