Leisure centre bosses had to close swimming pools at a leisure centre this morning (Monday) for repairs to be carried out.

East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture Trust said that an air handling unit failed at the Leisuredrome in Bishopbriggs this morning (Monday) and until it is repaired, the three pools will remain closed.

It is hoped that work will be completed tomorrow with the pools re-opening in the early evening.

Mark Grant, chairman of the East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture Trust, said on Monday: “We apologise to all customers who will be inconvenienced by the closure of the pools.

“This is a health and safety issue which we are working hard to resolve as quickly as possible. Please check the Trust website for updates - www.edlc.co.uk.”

All groups scheduled to use the pools were contacted.

Meanwhile, Bishopbriggs Library re-opened today after it had to close when a ceiling collapsed on Friday.
