A total of £30,000 is being made available to make use of under-used parts of land in East Dunbartonshire.
The council recently successfully bid to be part of the ‘Stalled Spaces Sotland’ programme, securing £15,000 which it has pledged to match.
It will be used to fund small grants to encourage the temporary use of stalled development sites, under-used green spaces, and derelict land across the district.
The national programme is being delivered by Architecture and Design Scotland (A+DS) and forms part of the 2014 Commonwealth Games Legacy.
The aim is to have two rounds - with the first opening in April 2015 and the second planned for late autumn 2015.
Council officers are currently working on the grant application process and assessment criteria.
