Thumbs up for new look Giffnock Library
The library’s interior has been completely transformed to incorporate a new teenage section, a colourful kids area, heritage suite, and meetings rooms available for local groups and services.
Council leader Jim Fletcher unveiled a plaque at the re-opening event last week, and children from nearby schools gave invited guests a tour of their new, modern facilitiy.

“It has always been popular but it’s even more so now with its great new look and modern facilities.
“It was designed to be a real community hub, and it’s proving to be just that.
“The feedback from those who use the library has been superb and we hope our locals see it as a place that is truly at the centre of the Giffnock community.”

Hide AdGiffnock Primary kids were enthused by the new library and spoke highly of the dedicated sections and relaxed atmosphere.
They were joined, no less, by pupils from St Ninian’s and Woodfarm high schools, who took guests at the library on a welcome tour of the new and improved premises.
Guests were treated to music from Eastwood High students, making the re-opening a successful day all round, thanks to the help of the community.
There are a host of events scheduled at the redesigned library — for more info, visit www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/libraries.
