Police are appealing for information from the public after yobs threw a lit firework into the garden of a home where a three year old boy was playing.

This happened around 6.30pm on Montrose Drive, Bearsden, on Sunday, August 14 when a car drove past with four occupants inside.

A rear passenger lit a firework inside the vehicle, which then flew into the garden near to the young boy. The car then drove off in the direction of Stockiemuir Avenue, Bearsden.

A police spokesperson said: “Thankfully, the young boy was not injured in the incident, however, understandably, he was left shaken and very upset.”

The car was a navy blue Volkswagen Golf, believed to be a 53 plate.

The rear passenger is described as aged between 18-20 years old, wearing a navy jacket or long sleeved top, with short dirty blonde hair. The driver of the vehicle was described as around 18-20 years old, with short dark hair. There are no descriptions of the other occupants in the car.

The police would like to speak to anyone who has any information as it is believed that the car had been driving around the wider area of Bearsden before the incident occurred.
