Comedian Frankie Boyle has made a donation to a charity set up in memory of tragic teenager Paige Doherty, who worked in Kirkintilloch.
The Glasgwegian funnyman gave protective equipment to “Paige’s Promise”, which will provide self-defence classes for kids being rolled out across Glasgow. Paige’s mum Pamela Munro revealed the celebrity donation on Facebook.
She said: “Would just like to say a massive thank you to comedian Frankie Boyle.”
Paige (15) had left a sleepover at a friend’s home and was on her way to the hairdresser’s in Kirkintilloch where she worked when she vanished on the morning of Saturday, March 19.
Her body was found 48 hours later in Clydebank. John Leathem, 31, of Clydebank has been charged with her murder and is presently remanded in custody after two court appearances.
The charity, which the family have been fundraising for, also aims to offer support to families who have lost kids in tragic circumstances.
