Eight-week road closure at Mugdock

A stretch of Mugdock Road will close next month as work continues on a £30m project to improve services to more than 54,000 customers of Scottish Water.

From Monday, January 18, Mugdock Road, from just after Drumclog car park, will be closed to vehicular traffic.

Drumclog car park will remain open with limited parking and the area will be accessible for pedestrians and cyclists.

Road traffic management has been agreed in conjunction with East Dunbartonshire Council and is anticipated to be in place for around eight weeks. Drivers are urged to follow diversions and allow extra time for travel.

Jane McKenzie at Scottish Water, said: “This is a live construction site which will include excavation work.

“The road closure and restrictions are in place to protect our workforce and members of the public. We appreciate these vital works are disruptive, and we are working to keep any disruption to a minimum.”

Customers in Bearsden, Milngavie and Strathblane, as well as Clydebank, will benefit from the project.
