Two taken to hospital after house blaze at Bishopbriggs

Two people were taken to hospital after a blaze broke out in a house at Bishopbriggs.

Police and fire services attended the scene at Clelland Avenue at around 7am on Monday.

Two people were treated for smoke inhalation and taken to Glasgow’s Royal Infirmary.

Police cordoned off the road.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to reports of a house fire at 7.09am on Monday, February 12.

“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to Clelland Avenue, Bishopbriggs, where firefighters extinguished the fire.

“Two casualties suffering from slight smoke inhalation were treated at the scene by firefighters.

“One casualty, plus an additional member of the public, were thereafter transferred into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and transported to Glasgow’s Royal Infirmary.

“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area had been made safe.”

The blaze is not believed to have been suspicious.
