Victory is par for the course for young golfer
Seven-year-old George Gannon, from Bishopbriggs, teed off at the recent Stephen Gallacher Foundation competition at North Berwick Golf Club.
He shot a terrific score of 34 over nine holes in the under-8 flag competition - beating 19 other competitors in the process.

Hide AdSt Matthew’s Primary School pupil George started playing golf at the age of just two, hitting a plastic ball around his family’s living room.
Now he practices regularly at Bishopbriggs Driving Range, where he also receives lessons.
Proud dad Dave said: “We are lucky to go on holiday to East Fife and Portugal each year and - with his parents and grandparents enjoying the odd round of golf - he was encouraged at an early age.
“He’s a natural swinger of the club and he has the talent to do very well if he wants to.

Hide Ad“He practises a lot a Bishopbriggs Driving Range and gets lessons there from Matthew Laughtland who owns and runs the business.
“George enjoys a few holes with me at Bishopbriggs Golf Club during the spring and summer evenings.
“He also enjoys playing rugby at Alan Glen’s and also drama and skiing.”
