Education chiefs have offered pupils, parents and staff a virtual tour of how new schools in East Dunbartonshire will look.
The design, which is based on the needs of Curriculum for Excellence, will act as a reference design for new-build primary schools across the district and will be used to build the new Lairdsland Primary School, which is set to open in October 2014.
The design was developed in consultation with staff and pupils to produce a result that provides a “stimulating learning environment”.
Council officials say the flexible and open classrooms allow for formal learning areas and informal project space.
Each classroom will have access to an outdoor learning area, and there are dedicated areas for art, science, and display.
Outdoor spaces include all-weather facilities to allow for physical education throughout the school year.
Council leader Rhondda Geekie said: “These images present a school which is fit for learning in the 21st century.”
