BRAZEN thieves have been breezing into homes in Kirkintilloch and Bishopbriggs.
The sum of £220 was taken from a home in Meiklehill Avenue, Kirkintilloch, at 2.15am on Tuesday, September 27, after someone entered the insecure property.
The intruder made off after being disturbed by the householder.
The culprit is described as being 5ft 9ins and white. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper with the hood up, a light-coloured skip cap and grey joggers.
Anyone with information should contact Kirkintilloch Police Office on 0141 532 4400.
The Herald revealed recently how an elderly woman suffered a terrifying ordeal after discovering an intruder in her kitchen.
The woman, in her 70s, was in her Balmuildy Road home, in Bishopbriggs, when she heard her back door open at around 4.30pm on September 14.
She walked into her kitchen to be confronted by a man who quickly fled.
And on September 3 a resident in Cumnock Road, Robroyston, slammed the door closed on a raider who was trying to unfasten a security chain at around 5.30am.
Constable Siobhan McCandlish said: “We would urge residents, particularly elderly householders, to ensure that all their doors are locked, even when they are in their home, as there are opportunists out there just looking for the chance to gain access to a property.”
