A 63-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car in Kirkintilloch this morning.
The accident happened around 9.40am at David Donnelly Place outside Smith’s Hotel in the town.
Police said no other vehicles were involved and the driver of the car was uninjured.
Ambulance, fire brigade and police attended and the injured woman was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
It is not yet known the extent of her injuries.
The road was initially closed as a result of the accident and is now reopened.
Earlier this morning a busy road was closed in Kirkintilloch after a two-car accident.
Two vehicles were in collision around 8.35am today (Thursday) at Glasgow Road’s junction with New Lairdsland Road in the town.
It is believed a woman was treated at the scene.
