Gin fans can raise a glass or two this month as Wetherspoon’s brings back its popular gin festival, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The pub chain will run the event for 17 days and has a choice of 14 exciting new tipples for drinkers to try.

When is the gin festival?

The gin festival will run from Friday 14 February until Sunday 1 March 2020, and will showcase up to 30 different tipples made in the UK and overseas.

This year’s event will also feature a number of gins not previously served in Wetherspoon pubs. The line-up includes a variety of flavoured gins, gin-based liqueurs and a distilled non-alcoholic option.

Among the winter flavours is an Aber Falls gingerbread gin liqueur, Edinburgh Gin apple and spice gin liqueur, and Eden Mill Love Gin Liqueur spiced rhubarb crumble.

There are also some warmer, spring-inspired flavours, including sicilian lemon and watermelon infused tipples, also with some old classics, such as Hawthorn’s London Dry Gin.

There are also some more unusual flavours on offer, including a Slingsby orange marmalade gin. The burnt orange tipple is zesty in flavour and is best enjoyed on ice, with a twist of orange peel.

The festival is taking place in every Wetherspoon pub across the UK, although the amount of each gin available in each location may vary.

Not just gin and tonic

Pub-goers will also have a range of mixers at their disposal, including three flavoured tonics - Valencian orange, elderflower and pink grapefruit.

Or, for those who prefer something a little different, Wetherspoons is offering alternate mixers to the classic tonic, with ginger ale and lemonade among the options.

How much do drinks cost during the festival?

All of the gins at the festival will also be available to order via the Wetherspoon app, with drinks at last year’s event being priced between £2.60 and £5.05 with a mixer.
