LIKE most clubs in central Scotland, Black Watch’s game – against Busby – was off on Saturday.

Last Monday, Watch played Beith Juniors at Firhill Complex in a friendly.

This was a test for Blackies against the Super League side and although Watch were defeated 3-1 it wasn’t until the 70th minute when the junior side went in front.

There was little difference between the sides in the game and only the stronger and more experienced team came out on top.

Blackies goal was taken superbly by Declan Cairney after special outfield play from McGeough and McIlroy.

Watch players are being kept busy over the holidays with games against Queens Park Youth side at Toryglen indoor astro grass this Saturday – Christmas Eve – with a 1pm kick off.

On Hogmanay, Watch play Bo’ness United at Ravenscraig indoor astro grass – with a 2pm kick off.

Tote numbers for Saturday were 42 and 12. There was one winner, who receives £150.
