Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, Rossvale and Ashfield joined St Anthony’s, St Roch’s and Maryhill for a six-team friendly tournament at Springburn Park - with fans.

The event had been planned for a weekly basis but was put on hold because of continuing Covid-19 restrictions in Glasgow.

However last week’s dropping of the city to Level 2 meant it could finally go ahead, with spectators permitted to attend subject to Covid regulations being adhered to.

First up were Rossvale and St Anthony’s for a 10am start.

After a goalless first period Vale went ahead six minutes after the break, Ross McKenzie slotting home the opener.

Euan Rodger doubled Vale's advantage on 72 minutes with a close-range diving header and Mikey McWilliams sealed the 3-0 victory in style two minutes later, thumping a cracking long-range drive in off the underside of the bar.

Next up for a noon kick-off were Rob Roy and St Roch's who fought out an entertaining 2-2 draw which saw Rabs boss Stewart Maxwell able to give most of his squad a run out.

Ciaran Reilly and Fraser Scott got the Rabs' goals with former Rob Roy players Liam Crichton and Connor Hughes on target for St Roch's.

The final match of the day saw Ashfield face Maryhill with the former running out 3-0 winners.

Ben Dailly put them in command with a first-half double and Brad Rodden completed the scoring with Ashfield's third after the break.
