Pollok should have taken a first-minute lead, but Alain Kinney fired wide.

Then Rabs’ Chris Mackie had his shot blocked before Keiran McAleenan’s follow-up was kicked clear.

David Gormley was next to come close for the Kirkintilloch club when his diving header from a Mick Fulton cross just cleared the bar.

The home side took the lead in the 24th minute when Brian McGinty fired in a shot which keeper Stephen Robertson could only palm into his net.

A minute later McAleenan did well to block a powerful McGinty shot.

Pollok increased their lead in the 37th minute when Diack freed Peter McMahon, who rifled home a low shot from 20 yards.

Rabs pulled a goal back three minutes before half-time when the unmarked Fulton rose at the back post to send a well-directed header past Morrison from a deep Mackie cross.

First chance of the second half fell to Pollok with Lee Nichol flashing a shot just wide of Robertson’s post, then at the other end from a Fulton lay-off Gormley brought out a fine diving save from Morrison.

Gormley stung the palms of the Pollok goalkeeper again when – from a clever short free-kick from Fulton – he sent in a 30-yard effort which was well saved by Morrison.

Playing neat passing football, Rabs were making chances for themselves and Mackie headed over a Gormley cross.

With 20 minutes remaining Pollok should have increased their lead after former Adamslie Park favourite Paul McQuilken released McGinty, who hit the Rabs upright with a shot when passing to the unmarked Diack would have been a better option.

Rabs were well in command in the late stages of the match with Mackie’s header shaving the bar.

The visitors sent on Jamie Lindsay for Nick Cairney in the 82nd minute and the substitute took only three minutes to make his mark on the game when he drilled a low 20-yard drive into the bottom right-hand corner of the Pollok net to level the score.

Rob Roy sealed all three points in stoppage time when Fulton sent an accurate cross into the crowded goalmouth where Gormley was first to react. He sent a diving header over the line and Rob Roy top of the table.
