Rossvale moved two points clear at the top of the Central First Division table with a last minute win over Maryhill on Saturday.
From the outset both teams began at a high tempo and produced solid defending which only succeeded in cancelling each other out and limiting any goalscoring opportunities to mainly half chances.
Jason McKay forced Maryhill ’keeper Hay into a great stretching save to his right while at the other end Furay’s header from a Docherty corner flashed just wide.
Hay twice denied Rossvale’s Chris McQuade just before the break, firstly finger-tipping a 30-yard effort over the bar and then clawing away the resulting corner at the post.
After the break Hay again denied McKay who was through one on one before a flick from Maryhill’s Monaghan brushed the outside of the post.
Rossvale ’keeper Jordan Bowskill then produced a fine stop with his legs to keep out an effort from Wells who had found himself in space inside the Rossvale penalty area 14 yards from goal.
Just as a draw looked to be on the cards Rossvale grabbed a dramatic winner in the final minute.
After a driving run McQuade laid the ball off to Alex Cassells and he touched the ball to McKay whose strike deflected off a Maryhill defender and looped over the head of the despairing Hay.
