Just 3.5 per cent of 2019/20 season ticket holders applied for refunds being made available by the club to compensate them for the campaign being cut short.

When the season stopped in March Thistle still had five home Championship fixtures, against Dundee United, Morton, Arbroath, Inverness Caley Thistle and Dundee still to play.

A club statement said: "It is important for us to firstly emphasise we are genuinely pleased that those supporters who required a refund to help them at this tough time took up our offer prior to Friday’s deadline.

"With just 64 of 1,800 season ticket holders doing so, this resulted in a total refund cost of less than £5,000 – should all 2019/20 season ticket holders have claimed the refund they were entitled to, the cost to the club would have been in excess of £80,000.

"This is an incredible gesture by our season ticket holders and a continuation of the amazing support you have shown us in recent months.

"Offering refunds was absolutely the right thing to do – your support in return is humbling. Not only does it provide a massive financial boost to the club at this very uncertain time, it encourages us to continue to take decisions that are right for Thistle and our fans.

"There is nothing more important to the club than our supporters. Please do continue to follow all government and NHS advice, look after each other and stay safe.
