Rossvale Juniors take a break from league business for the next couple of weeks.
Saturday’s West of Scotland second round tie at Cumnock is followed by a Scottish Junior Cup trip to Lanark the following week.
And ‘Vale boss Martin Lauchlan said that makes Saturday’s last gasp win at St Anthony’s all the more vital.
He said: “With two cup ties coming up it was important to try to get a bit of a gap at the top of the table.
“To be fair I though we dominated the game for long spells and the win was a fair reflection.
“The good thing now is that while we’re playing in the cups all the teams round about us in the league play each other.”
Rossvale go to Super League Cumnock as underdogs and the Rossvale boss believes that could work in his side’s favour.
He said: “They will be favourites and there’s not a great deal of pressure on us to go and win.
“But that doesn’t mean we’re not capable of causing an upset. We will be focussed and they’ll have to play well to beat us.”
