Harestanes secured their place in the quarter finals of the West of Scotland Cup with a hard fought victory against Dalziel.
Hares started the better side but lost their way after ten or so minutes.
All credit to the visitors who harried and chased them, never allowing any time to settle.
From the kick-off Harestanes went on the offensive and had Dalziel under pressure.
However the cracks began to appear. Weak defending gave the visitors a chance but they shot wide when they could have done better.
Dalziel came more and more into the game and put themselves ahead. Their number nine played his way through three Harestanes defenders and sent a low shot into the left hand corner.
Hares came close to an equaliser when Broadfoot had a great chance but could only hit the outside of the post.
Half-time and Harestanes were simply not in the game. Only two players only, McClune and Black, deserved passmarks.
The second half was a different story as Dalziel ran out of steam and Harestanes upped their game to run out deserved winners.
Cairney came close with a shot which cannoned off the post.
The equaliser came from good play by McClune. He won the ball, passed on for Black to play in Fitzsimmons. A twist or two in the box and the ball went rolling in under the keeper.
Cairney and Broadfoot were both denied by excellent pushovers by the keeper.
Good play by Black allowed Broadfoot to slip the ball across the box for Fitzsimmons to score his second. A touch on the ball and a shot which blasted in off the underside of the bar.
He completed the hat-trick when McRae held the ball at the corner flag for a bit of time wasting. He came away with it and played in for McDonnell to cross for Fitzsimmons who headed in.
