Maia Lumsden is Tennis Scotland International Player of the Year

Maia Lumsden has been named as Tennis Scotland’s International Player of the Year.

The 22-year-old, originally from Bearsden before moving to Lenzie, reached a career high WTA ranking of 250 in October.

During 2019 she reached two W25 ITF tournament finals, in Goyang, South Korea, and in Kiryat Shmona, Israel.

She also reached the semi-final of the W25 in Glasgow and the quarter-finals of the higher-rated W60 tournament in Shrewsbury.

Thorn Park Tennis Club were also shortlisted for an award but just missed out to Prestwick Tennis and Fitness in the Club of the Year category.
