Rabs are beaten by six goals in another league defeat

THE worst game of the season - that was the description by Rob Roy manager Jimmy Lindsay following his team’s defeat by a whopping six goals.

The team were outplayed for much of the match against Irvine Meadow, which ended 0-6 - their third league loss in a row.

It’s been a bad start to a gruelling two-week period which will see Rabs play a marathon six games in three competitions.

Last Wednesday they failed to secure a Central League quarter-final spot, going out after a penalty shoot-out in an untidy encounter against Pollock.

A 2-2 draw went to penalties and Rabs lost out.

However, Jimmy Lindsay was hopeful of better results this week, including the game against Blantyre Vics in the West of Scotland third-round this evening ({Monday).

Lindsay said: “Saturday’s match was probably the worst we have been all season. The game was so flat and we were never really at it from start to finish.

“We hardly created a chance and the defence was very poor. We can’t blame injuries.

“We need to roll our sleeves up now and push on.”

The Kirkintilloch team will also be in action on Wednesday in the league against Shotts Bon Accord at Hannah Park at 7pm, and on Saturday against Auchinleck Talbot at Adamslie Park at 2pm.
