Ambitious Bishopbriggs side Rossvale are gearing up to the big kick-off of their debut season in junior football.
After more than a year of meticulous planning, Rossvale’s first ever competitive junior match saw them up against Cumbernauld United at Petershill Park in Springburn on Wednesday,
Manager Ian Gray (48), who was a Scottish Cup winner as a player with Glenafton Athletic, says the club’s aim for this season in the Central District Second Division is simply to consolidate their position.
Ian said: “Our squad is a mix of experienced junior players, players who were at Rossvale under-21s, one who was with Rossvale under-19s and players from other under-21 teams and amateur teams.
“We want to play a passing game and playing on astrograss allows us players who are comfortable on the ball.”
Rossvale will travel to Lesser Hampden this Sunday, July 31 to take on league side Queen’s Park in a friendly fixture (kick-off 2pm).
